Fire Destroys Shops at Kantamanto Tazani Lane

by | Oct 21, 2025

A raging fire has destroyed several shops at Kantamanto Tazani Lane in Accra, causing panic among traders and residents in the area.

The inferno, which reportedly started in the early hours of Tuesday, October 21, 2025, quickly spread through wooden structures and container shops, burning goods worth thousands of cedis.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are currently on the scene battling the blaze to bring it under control. Eyewitnesses say the fire started from one of the shops and rapidly spread due to the congested nature of the area.

Many traders were seen desperately trying to salvage their belongings while others watched helplessly as their goods went up in flames.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but officials from the GNFS say investigations will begin as soon as the fire is completely extinguished.

So far, no casualties have been reported, but several people have been left devastated by the loss.

Security officers have also cordoned off parts of the lane to control the crowd and ensure safety during firefighting operations.

Updates will follow as the story develops.— Reporting for ZM News
